Previously known as the Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Club, the Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai is built on 450 rai of land in a valley in the mountain ranges in the San Kampaeng natural forests. Designed and constructed by designer, Ron Garl, this golf course is designed much like his other designs. The course has 18 holes and has a length of 7,541 yards an area that is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced players. The par-5 4th hole lies at 652 yards, the longest in Thailand and on the course. The 5th par-4 lies at 444 yards, is surrounded by green and to score well you need a par. The 7th hole is challenging as it is adjacent to the spirit house and has a stream that runs along and across the hole from green to tee. The par-4 9th is on an island fairway which requires play over water twice and almost directly into the prevailing wind. The par-4 11th, at 524 yards, offers the biggest challenge. The 15th is a par-3 island green at 169 yards and can be quite fear-inducing with its surrounding water hazard which makes the island seem smaller than its 50 yard width. Other facilities on the course are the day spa, the 4-star resort, day spa and international restaurant.
