“Ban Chang” was the name of this golf course when it first opened in 1995, then was renamed into “Rayong Century Golf Club”. A facelift and rebranding in 2006 resulted to another name change, and now this Pattaya resort is now known as the Emerald Golf Club. Designed by Nick Faldo and Desmond Muirhead, this golf course is known to pose great challenges even to the most seasoned golfers. The Emerald Golf Club is comfortable ensconced in the hillsides and mountainsides right on the outskirts of Rayong, its 18-hole par 72 course set amid a virgin forest. Golfers find their skills continuously tested by the well-placed bunkers, as well as the undulating and rolling, narrow fairways. They sure made the small number of water hazards forgivable. If you’re looking for some of the best holes on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard, then you’ve definitely come to the right place. Aside from the small yet charming clubhouse, golfers can also troop to the welcoming open air restaurant for some rest and relaxation. Indeed, this is the best alternative if you don’t want to go to the more crowded and bigger golf courses in the area.
