The Happy City Golf Resort is found on the foothills of Northern Thailand immediately outside Chiang Rai. Owned by Koreans, the facility is billed as the only 29-hole golf course across the entire world. Thailand professional golfers designed it, with the three 9-hole courses being named River, Mountain Breeze and Lakeside.
In addition, two spare maintenance holes are available for switching in and out, allowing for course improvements to be undertaken without play getting disrupted on the nines.
Paspalum grass is utilized for Happy City tee boxes plus fairways, whereas Bermuda greens get constructed using contemporary ultra-dwarf grass variety, which ensures good speed and true roll. A total of five tee sets are the challenge of every golfer on the course. Frequent winds occur as well here and golfers must keenly take account of their effects on shots.
Majority of holes at Happy City Golf course have elevated tees. Lakeside Course, or the first 10 holes, features an abundance of sand bunkers plus water obstacles. Mountain Breeze Course or the second 10 is tougher to the right, yet more open and with wider fairways for more aggressive play. Happy City includes pineapple grove between two holes and par-313th Texas hole.
