Formerly called Natural Park Hill Golf Club, Mountain Shadow Golf Resort forms part of Panya group. It was reopened 2004 following complete renovation work, including of club house. The golf course is situated halfway between Pattaya and Bangkok and is designed by Ronald Fream. Mountain Shadow originated from a Mango plantation having beautiful trees plus flowers which provided a backdrop to each green. Greens and Fairways are kept in perfect state. Dog-legs, water hazards plus four island greens are utilized to relatively good effect, making the 18-hole, short course suited for golfing at all levels.
In general, greens are fast, having large undulations which make reading of the correct line quite an important undertaking. Fairways are narrow and lined with palm trees, offering huge challenges in recovering errant tee shots. The fairly long distance in-between fairways and tees, renders teeing further difficult to manage. One can hit shorter tee shots, though these quite often end up in tricky-to-hit spots. Both 6th and 14th holes can get rather challenging. There are greens tucked behind sizeable water hazards of these two par-5 doglegs. A nice Clubhouse restaurant which serves an assorted menu of delicacies calmly awaits golfers after facing a challenging game.
