Pinehurst Golf Club hosted the 1992 Johnnie Walker Classic and the 1994 Thailand Open. The course is situated 15 minutes north of Bangkok's domestic airport and 45 minutes from central Bangkok. Although it is an older course, it is favorable for mid to high handicappers especially because of its wide fairways and flat greens. Pinehurst has 3 nine-holes: the North Lake, West Forest and the South Greenfield. The North Lake course bears great similarity to municipal golf courses in America. The South Greenfield nine is very flat and smooth. The West Forest Course will present a challenge particularly because of its water hazards and mounds off the fairways. Pinehurst also has VIP golf carts for hire, floodlights at night for night golf and the night caddies who are also university students and can be selected depending on the golfer's preferences. The large clubhouse, golf lodge and restaurants are also available for use. The clubhouse offers a view of the entire golf course. The menu in the main restaurant boasts the best Korean and Japanese cuisine. High handicappers are assured of getting satisfied at Pinehurst. Be prepared to spend a long time on the course as many golfers choose to play here.
