St. Andrews Golf course works with spectacular yet undulating natural topography. Desmond Muirhead, English born golfing architect is the person in charge of creating one among the most enviable courses in Pattaya. Built as replica of a Scottish links course, it is located in Rayong, lying about 1.5 hours from Bangkok and 40 minutes away from Pattaya. The golfing experience here for visitors is uncompromising for handicap 18 or lower level players.
The tough course plays at over 7700 yards to par 74. Elevated greens and tees are the features of St. Andrews golf club, including tight landing zones, huge putting surfaces plus split elevation fairways. In particular, the back nine has huge elevation changes, with dumbfounding views of surrounding hillsides. This fairly intense course is extremely challenging test of golfing in Pattaya, regardless of the tee taken.
Both holes 4 and 13, which measure in respectively at 878 and 861 yards are quite strategic and not penal in most cases. Three ponds and the backdrop get exploited to maximum, ensuring that a course tour is mentally accommodating to golfers. One needs power and accuracy alike to succeed on the various shots made. The golf resort plus clubhouse is run in sound manner and overlook the 19th hole.
