The Kaeng Krachan Golf Resort forms par of Kaeng Krachan Estate, apart from being one of several Hua Hin remote courses. It lies within Petchaburi province, which is just an hour from the city of Hua Hin and is to be found to the North of the mountain range, at the heart of an estate besieged by forests, lakes and mountains. Kaeng Krachan started operating back in 1994, with the first 18 Lake and Valley holes being designed by the popular Thai golfing designer Cherd Bunyaratavej. The holes require teeing accuracy to keep one from rampant loss of balls amidst the vast trees plus bamboos lining up fairways.
Fairways are quite inviting to explore in play while greens can be rather tricky, though not having much movement within them. A number of natural lakes are supply water for hazards which feature along the play horizon of 6 holes in all. The 2008 newly opened 9-hole Jack Nicklaus Mountain course made Kaeng Krachan a golfing facility of 27 holes. Golfers can experience over 3,600 yards at the par-36 Nicklaus course of significantly dramatic Thai changes in elevation here. Par-5 hole 3 sweeps left across fairways bordered on either side by fairways.
