Thai Country Club was designed by Denis Griffiths and was opened in December 1996 and can be used for recreational and competitive golfing. Measuring 7,157 yards, the course hosted the 1997 Asian Honda Classic which was won by Tiger Woods. In 1998, Vijay Singh won the Johnnie Walker Super Tour on this same course. The course is characterized by sand bunkers, water hazards, and unique holes, rolling hills, contoured fairways and elevated greens. Good course management is necessary to successfully navigate this course. The greens and fairways are well bunkered. Stray shots can easily be retrieved unless they are on the semi-rough which pauses a bit of a challenge. Players' games will be tested by the undulating greens. One of the tougher holes is the 6th which measures 218 yards. It has a water hazard on the right, in front and behind the green. Another notable hole is the par-5 14th. The caddies are high-class professionals. The clubhouse has worn awards in Asia and has water all around it. It is located between the 1st and 18th tee green and has a beautiful view of the course. This members-only club has high quality facilities, the restaurant, The Gallery, has an extensive menu serving Western, Thai Chinese and Japanese food and buffets every day.
